Theme license
Laurel is sold on the Shopify Theme Store, so your right to use the theme is handled by Shopify as part of the purchase. There is no separate license key to buy and no code to type into the theme editor: when you buy Laurel through the Theme Store, the purchase is recorded against your store automatically. This page explains what that means in practice and where to go for anything about your purchase.
How buying Laurel works
- You can add Laurel to your theme library and preview it for free. You are only charged when you publish it as your live theme.
- The purchase is processed by Shopify and tied to the store you bought it for. You do not manage a license key yourself.
- A theme purchase covers the store it was bought for. If you run more than one store, check the terms on the theme's Theme Store listing before using it on another store.
- Updates to Laurel are delivered through Shopify. See Update Laurel for how to move to a newer version.
Where to find your purchase details
Steps:
- Log in to your Shopify admin.
- Go to Settings > Billing to see your theme purchase on your billing history.
- Go to Online Store > Themes to confirm Laurel is in your theme library or published.
Result: you can see the store the theme is attached to and the purchase on your Shopify billing, which is what any support request will ask about first.
Getting help with your purchase
Because the purchase is handled by Shopify, questions about billing, refunds, or using the theme on a different store are answered by Shopify, not by a separate license process.
- For billing, refunds, or moving a theme between stores, contact the Shopify Help Center (help.shopify.com) or use the support options in your Shopify admin.
- For the exact purchase terms, read the Laurel listing on the Shopify Theme Store, which states what the purchase covers.
- For questions about how the theme works (settings, sections, features), use this documentation and the theme support channel listed on the Theme Store listing.
If something goes wrong
- You are not sure whether you already bought the theme. Check Settings > Billing in your Shopify admin. A theme you have paid for appears in your billing history; a theme you are only trying does not.
- You want to use Laurel on a second store. Each store is billed separately on Shopify. Check the terms on the Theme Store listing, and buy the theme again on the second store if required.
- You want a refund. Refunds for Theme Store purchases are handled by Shopify. Contact the Shopify Help Center with your store domain and the purchase date.
